Storywood Theatre Productions is a Children’s Theatre company based in Cape Town, South Africa

Theatre for children of all ages and abilities..

The company was founded in 1995 as an independent, professional children’s theatre company providing theatre experiences for children of all ages and abilities. The company has staged productions at various theatres in and around Cape Town (Artscape Arena, The Baxter Theatre, The Drama Factory, The Nassau Theatre) and at theatre festivals: KKNK (2006), Suidoosterfees (2007), Woordfees (2008), the National Arts Festival (2012, 2017), the Youth Environmental Festival (YES 2013,2016), The Shakespeare Schools Festival (2014, 2018) and the Assitej Cradle of Creativity Festival (2019). It has undertaken numerous schools` tours. Its environmental theatre production, `Global Ballgame` is featured on the Assitej data base for school productions. The Company has taken part in various outreach programmes (Youth at Risk, Delft, for the Dept of Social Services; Children on the Autism Spectrum, WC 2019).

The company focuses on creating theatre experiences suited to very specific age groups and audience requirements. In the past, our focus areas have been: Early Years (0-30 months), 3-5 year olds, pre-school (6-7), Foundation Phase (7-9), Intermediate Phase (10-12), Senior Phase ( 12-14), teens (15-18), Children on the Autism spectrum, Audiences with Cognitive Challenges, audiences with Physical Challenges.
