Margot Wood

Producer, Director, Designer, Actor

After her undergraduate training in Drama at UCT, Ms Wood obtained an Honours in Acting and Directing from University of Natal followed by a Masters degree in Drama with specialization in Children’s Theatre from the University of Stellenbosch.

She obtained the Licentiate Teacher’s Diploma in Drama from Trinity College of London and a Fellowship in Directing from the same institution. Ms Wood has completed specialized residencies and workshops in Early Years Theatre (with the Helios theatre company, Germany), Theatre for Autism (with Trusty Sidekick NYC and Oily Cart, London, UK) and Puppetry (with The Puppetmongers, Toronto). 

She spent many years as a Teaching Artist teaching in studios and schools, and was the head of Helen O`Grady SA from 2001-2005. She is a lecturer in Educational Drama & Theatre and a certified Teaching Artist and Arts Integration specialist. She has twice undertaken workshops with the Lincoln Centre NYC in Teaching Artistry and holds a Certificate in Responsive Pedagogy from The University of Columbia. She is a co-author of two books on Educational Drama and Theatre for Foundation and Intermediate Phases.

Zena Wood

Director, Producer, Actor

Zena Wood is a Producer, Performer and Director working in Cape Town, NYC and Amsterdam. She is trained in musical theatre and film production. She started her career producing political mockumentaries in SA, before moving the USA to produce films and documentaries.

She is the producer of feature film, The Blacklight (AMC Theaters), I Heart Jenny (Green Bay Film Festival New Filmmakers Festival New York) and Life After Her which was selected to screen at Festival de Cannes 2017. Her original documentary, Will There Be Dancing, was awarded best short at the Cannes Short Film Festival, 2020. She has coordinated for Fortune 500 companies and studios such as The BBC, Sky and History Channel and produced a virtual reality immersive game for Brooklyn-based startup, Unshut. In 2018 she founded Space Weather Girl as part of a Dutch startup incubator which focuses on production and location services, theatrical immersive events and media consultancy along the themes of conservation, space exploration and the blending of the arts and sciences.

Alecia Milan

Production manager, Actress and Director.

Alecia obtained a Licentiate Diplomas in Performing and the Teaching of Drama through Trinity College of London. She is a freelance actress, director and Production Manager based in Cape Town. She was the production manager for The Nose National Arts Festival tour and Artscape run. She is a theatre workshop facilitator. She is currently based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

 Storywood Theatre Productions further makes use of freelance performers as required per project.
